We offer a leadership program for students in 9th through 12th grade giving young people an opportunity to develop and enhance leadership skills, learn about their community, and find volunteer work. Register at DMV, the Office of Voter Registration, Department of Social Services and other state agencies. Register online at elections.virginia.gov or print and complete a Virginia Voter Registration Application Form and mail to 300 Lee Street, Suite 101, Bristol, VA 24201.

General elections are held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday every November. Local government elections for City Council and School Board are held on the first Tuesday in May of even-numbered years. Virginia law requires all voters to provide an acceptable form of ID when voting in person. Voters arriving at the polls without an acceptable form of ID will be required to either sign an ID Confirmation Statement or vote a provisional ballot.

Absentee voting begins 45 days before a general or primary election for eligible voters. If you are unable to go to the polls on Election Day, you may qualify to vote an absentee ballot either in person at the office or by mail. Voters who have a disability, active duty military personnel and family, students attending college away from home or being out of town are just a few of the accepted reasons.
