A 2nd public hearing will be held in the Bristol Virginia City Council chambers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 28 2024 at a regularly scheduled City Council meeting to give citizens an opportunity to comment on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Action Plan for Program Year 2024. The City does not yet know its PY 2024 CDBG entitlement allocation; it is expected to be similar to the amount received last year which was $269,250 to benefit low- to moderate-income individuals. The City also does not yet know its PY 2024 HOME allocation; it is expected to be similar to last year’s funding in the amount of $82,724 administered through the First Tennessee Development District on behalf of the Northeast Tennessee/Virginia HOME Consortium, to be used for low-income owner-occupied housing reconstruction and first-time homebuyer assistance. All proposed activities’ budgets will be proportionally increased or decreased from the estimated funding levels to match actual allocation amounts.
Draft copies of the Annual Action Plan are available at the Bristol, VA Office of Community Development & Planning (CDP), 300 Lee Street, Bristol VA, on the City’s website www.bristolva.org, and the Bristol Public Library, 701 Goode Street.
