On August 30, 2023, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Southwest Regional Office conducted inspections of Bristol Virginia’s solid waste management facility – SWP 588. On September 6, 2023, DEQ sent a no deficiency letter to the City for the facility finding that there were no apparent violations of the Virginia Waste Management Act, the Virginia Solid Waste Management Regulations, and the facility’s permit.
