Normal maintenance continues at the Quarry landfill, including monitoring of gas wells, odor mitigation readings, flare checks, pump rebuilds and adjustments to the gas pressure system. Soil was added around some gas wells in the landfill to allow field staff to reach the equipment and take readings. Closure of the older, adjacent, landfill reached a significant milestone this week. The liner installation is now complete and soil is being added for the final cover and seeding. The final wellheads are being installed to complete the gas capture system and perimeter ditches for the stormwater system are also nearing completion.
