Crews utilized the restored stormwater pump to remove surface water this week at the Bristol Quarry Landfill. The efforts to remove rainwater before it infiltrates the landfill have demonstrated the system’s effectiveness. Pumps associated with the leachate removal system at the landfill were also rebuilt and refurbished to improve efficiency. Crews continue to perform maintenance activities on the temperature sensors that monitor gas being extracted from landfill wells.
