Crews continue to work on the installation of flow meters dedicated to monitoring landfill liquids and stormwater at the Quarry Landfill. Seventy-five percent of the flow meter installation is now complete. Fine-tuning of the Sidewall Odor Mitigation System (SOMS) to maximize landfill gas extraction is also ongoing and progressing on schedule. At the adjacent, older landfill site, upgrading of the piping system to place it underground continues to move forward. With increased colder weather, and with the ongoing remediation efforts, neighbors may continue to experience some odors.
