This week at the Quarry Landfill a force main break in the leachate collection system was identified and isolated for repair. The north end of the Landfill was temporarily shut down during the troubleshooting process and is now back in service – with the exception of the force main leg. Crews also raised some piping due to settlement issues, rebuilt pumps, and collected samples for analysis.
At the older 498 landfill, the vegetation that was planted as cover continues to grow and should accelerate over the coming weeks as we receive additional rain.
