Improved weather conditions allowed crews to start moving large amounts of dirt at the Bristol Quarry Landfill again this week. Dirt was placed along the western portions of the landfill to address settlement. Additional dirt was also placed against the western wall of the Sidewall Odor Mitigation System (SOMS) to help the system work more efficiently.
Crews also restored vacuum pressure at two wells in the landfill. All wells at the landfill are now functioning properly. These repairs help maximize gas extraction at the landfill.
